In VU Meter (2021), a very short film by Cally Trench, we see drawings of a VU meter: an analogue device for measuring loudness, marked from -20 to +3 VU with the volume indicated by a needle pointer. Cally herself speaks phrases and sentences at an appropriate volume. These spoken lines increase in volume from the start ("Cough sweet") to the end ("NO!!!!!!").
