At Play 2012, curated by Cally Trench and Dr Outi Remes, consisted of three exhibitions exploring ideas about play, focussing on the way that play can be free and spontaneous or bound by rules and conventions, and the spirit of the Olympics in the year that the summer Olympics came to Britain. |

At Play 2012 also supported artists in making interactive and engaging work, and provided opportunities for artists' professional development through curatorial support, critique, research, conversations, talks and discussions, and workshops. At Play 2012 was produced by Dr Outi Remes. The artists in the At Play 2012 at OVADA exhibition were Leszek Blyszczynski, James R Ford, Linda Francis, Flora Gare, Rebecca Glover, Nick Kennedy, Philip Lee, Dan Lovelace, Sousan Luqman, Nyeema Morgan, Martina O'Shea, Katherina Radeva, Ann Rapstoff, Guy Tarrant, Cally Trench, and Mary Yacoob. The curators would particularly like to thank Lucy Phillips, Arts Coordinator at OVADA. At OVADA, there was a critique session open to artists and the public on 29 June 2012. Gemma Cumming led Family Interactive Box sessions with families, assisted by Linda Francis, on 14 July 2012. Guy Tarrant led a workshop for young people at Donnington Doorstep on 26 July 2012. At Play 2012 at OVADA was an exhibition that invited visitors to participate in the work, to engage physically, emotionally and intellectually, and to touch, play and explore. It included live performances by Dan Lovelace, Ann Rapstoff and Philip Lee, a site-specific floor piece by Mary Yacoob, a new sculptural installation by Rebecca Glover, as well as games, puzzles, drawings, videos, sculptures, and collections of objects.
